O texto abaixo faz parte do prefácio do meu livro "A Álgebra do Século XXI". Tudo que foi afirmado abaixo, EU PROVO!

A álgebra, tal como aceita universalmente, está baseada em falsos fundamentos, o que pode ser corrigido pela reformulação que apresento neste livro. Os erros existentes propagam-se para outros ramos da matemática, de modo que a mencionada reformulação conduz a um novo modelo matemático, totalmente escoimado dos erros e contradições existentes no modelo atual.

Na álgebra atual, admite-se que "menos vezes menos é igual a mais". Isso é falso! Daí decorrem situações bizarras , como a), b), c) e d) abaixo:

a) Dados dois números, o número menor (por exemplo, -5) ter o seu quadrado maior que o número maior ( por exemplo,3):

-5 < 3 porém (-5 )^2 > 3^2 ( x^2 é x ao quadrado)

b) O quadrado de uma dívida é um crédito. Como pode?

c) Na álgebra atual, uma equação do grau n tem sempre n raízes.                                       A equação X^2 - 6 x + 9 = 0, do segundo grau, teria portanto 2 raízes. Pelos cânones aceitos, teríamos:

S: soma das raízes = 6

P: produto das raízes = 9

As relações acima partem do pressuposto de que a equação, sendo do segundo grau, sempre terá duas raízes. No caso especial da equação considerada, encontramos apenas uma raiz, que é igual a 3, não havendo duas raízes para satisfazer as relações S e P. Para contornar a contradição, o modelo atual estabelece arbitrariamente que a segunda raiz é exatamente igual à primeira, de modo que

S = 3 + 3 = 6 e

P = 3 X 3 = 9.

A isso se chama “salvar o fenômeno”!

Observação: No modelo novo, uma equação do 2ºgrau pode ter mais ou ter menos que duas raízes. Como, de resto, toda equação do grau n pode ter mais ou ter menos do que n raízes.

d) No modelo matemático atual, quando resolvemos uma equação irracional, é necessário testar a raiz ou raízes encontradas. Aquelas que não se afirmarem como raízes verdadeiras são descartadas como “raízes estranhas”. É evidente que, se foi encontrada uma raiz que não é raiz, a culpa é dos fundamentos utilizados, não dos valores errados encontrados. No modelo matemático novo, não teremos “raízes

estranhas”, pois todos os valores encontrados são raízes, invariavelmente.                                                                                                                                 

O modelo matemático atual 

O modelo matemático atual trouxe muitos benefícios, mas durou muito mais do que o desejável, pela falta de uma visão crítica sobre os seus fundamentos, o que teve como consequência a exacerbação do interesse pelo estudo das funções de variáveis complexas.

Este livro apresenta um modelo matemático alternativo, e correto, que se inicia com uma nova conceituação dos fundamentos algébricos e permite um desenvolvimento natural da matemática, sem contradições e sem recorrência a convenções auxiliares ou a licenças de nenhuma natureza.

2013 – PLANET EARTH – YEAR OF A NEW MATHEMATICS

The text presented below is part of the preface of my book “The 21^st Century Algebra”. Everything stated hereinafter, I CAN PROVE!

The book intends to show that the algebra, as presently universally accepted, is based on false bases, requiring a reshaping in accordance with the procedure presented herein. The existing errors of algebra, naturally has propagated throughout other branches of mathematics. As a consequence thereof, it has been necessary to develop a new model, with mathematical branches totally free of the mistakes and contradictions existing in the presently accepted model.

Some examples may illustrate the problems referred above. It is stated in the current algebraic model that “minus multiplied by minus is equal to plus”. This is false! That´s why we can find exotic situations, as shown in a), b), c) and d) below:

a) The square of a number (- 5, for example) greater than the square of a larger number (3, for example).

b) The square of a debt is a credit. How can someone justify this?

c) The current algebra states that an equation of degree n has always n roots. Therefore the equation X^2 - 6 x + 9 = 0 would have two roots, considering that it is one of the second degree. In addition to this, it is also expected that:

S = sum of the roots = 6

P = product of the roots = 9

The above relations are based on the assumption that the equation of second degree, always have two roots. In the special case of the equation considered above, there is nevertheless only one root, which is equal to 3.  There are not the two roots necessary to satisfy the relations S and P. To overcome the contradiction, the current model establishes arbitrarily that the second root is exactly equal to the first one, so that

S = 3 + 3 = 6 and

P = 3 X 3 = 9.

An artifice to “save the phenomenum”! In the model I have been developing an equation of second degree may have more or less than two roots, the same way that an equation of degree n may have more or less than n roots.

d) In the present mathematical model, when solving an irrational equation, it is necessary to test the obtained root or roots.  Those not confirmed as true roots are dismissed as "strange roots". Bizarre procedure! The existence of “strange roots” is inded due to the wrong fundamentals used and can’t be attributed to the values found. In the new mathematical model, there is no room for such "strange roots".

The current accepted mathematical model

The current accepted mathematical model has brought many benefits, but lasted much longer than the desirable period, due to the absence of a critical view on their fundamentals.
