Deadmau5 - Live At Ultra Music Festival 2014
The term "trolling" is often used to describe someone just being annoying, stupid, or even just nasty, but true trolling is cleverly winding people up without doing anything wrong yourself--it's subtle, clever, and it's exactly what deadmau5 did as he covered for Avicii at Ultra this past weekend.
Playing a bit of Levels as a tribute to his fellow DJ was, at best, a shout-out to Tim while he lay in the hospital, and at worst, a bit of harmless fun. Then there was the "Old MacDonald" remix of Martin Garrix' Animals. It was all fun and games, but Tiesto didn't seem pleased.
While it was apparent the Mau5 meant it as a joke, it's hard to tell what whether Tiesto's response was a jibe or an attempt to join in. Chances are he was trying his own hand at a bit of satire, so Joel took in in good faith and gave Tijs a bit back, with his own clever reference to recent events.
Meanwhile, back in his home city, deadmau5 has invited controversial Toronto Mayor Rob Ford to take part in his Coffee Run series. It would certainly be an eye-opener, and despite the date, it looks like it's a very real possibility.
Deadmau5 uses the Coffee Run series to chat openly with a massive variety of people on the scene, such as his latest episode which features Vanilla Ice, who highlights how the series shows the real side of people, rather than just the media portrayal. Stream the video below. Hopefully Mayor Ford will take part, and who knows, maybe he'll offer the Ultra Music Festival a new home in his own city...

Oh wait, was @deadmau5 being sarcastic when he played @Avicii ? That's pretty sad taking the piss of someone who's in the hospital...
