German producer Daniel Goldstein, better known as Lane 8, has firmly established himself as a rock solid purveyor of smooth and stylish deep house, Anjunadeep-style. His latest EP The One has already set itself up as a summer anthem, but there's more on offer as Anjuna mainstay Matt Lange jumps on remix duties and gives us an exclusive first listen.
As you'd expect from Matt Lange, his take onThe One is a fine example of studio wizardry that gives the EP title track a slightly more up-tempo and techy flavor. Importantly though, the feel of the track is still there--the bassline and the vocal hooks very much remaining as the driving force behind the track. But while both are sampled directly in order to maintain the mantra of the original, they're carefully tweaked--the subtle yet intuitive nature of Matt's work shining through once again.
The One remixes are out on Anjunadeep on April 14.

I'm Here For You is a perfect Electronic Elements release--a mix of progressive trance and deep house that sounds good on paper and works even better in reality. There's the solid, deep bass, laid-back rhythms, massive reverbs, and distant synths you'd expect from both styles. Yet while elements from uplifting trance and minimal deep house might seem at odds, the production and sound design effortlessly smooths the whole track into a lush example of how dance music doesn't have to be designed for one just purpose.
I'm Here For You would work as well in a club as it would on a relaxation compilation, so why not get it now over on Beatport?
